FAQs

What theories is the Journal based on?

The Emotional Healer's Journal uniquely combines theories from psychology, mindfulness, and teleology (a branch of philosophy that focuses on the purpose of things as opposed to the cause of things) to help you understand and change emotional and thinking processes.

Who created the Journal?

This journal was created and written by a mother-daughter duo, Nada & Carla Segvic. Nada is a certified Theta Healing therapist and accredited CIR institute practitioner for Psychodynamic Development (as part of the European Association for Body Psychotherapy). Nada has spent over 16 years working with many modalities and has been teaching Theta Healing in Croatia for over 10 years.

Nada has a Master's Degree in Economics and has worked as an Accredited Accountant for over 20 years.

Carla grew up with self-development and mindfulness practices that have shaped her life in unimaginable ways and that she uses as support tools in her day-to-day, career, and relationships. A UCL Languages graduate, she’s worked in marketing teams in E-commerce and tech startups in London.

Why is the Journal focused on emotions?

Being in tune and understanding your own emotions is a great way of understanding your mind. We tend to shy away from displaying or welcoming our emotions but they are powerful messengers that help us decipher our own subconscious needs and wants, our self-limiting thoughts, behaviors, and habits that we may not be aware of.

Specific prompts and exercises in the Journal help you become friends with your emotions and understand how and why they arise, and how to think of them as a tool to make life changes.

The Emotional Healer's Journal also includes chapters on the psychology of emotions as well as a short introduction to every emotion.

How do I know if this Journal is right for me?

If you've ever thought about or wanted to make improvements in life or an area of life, or if you simply want to get to know yourself better then The Emotional Healer's Journal is for you. Whether you're already working on yourself or looking to start somewhere, we're here for you!

I have never done self-improvement stuff, is this Journal for me?

Of course - this Journal is made for everyone interested in making meaningful changes in life. If this is entirely new to you we suggest simply enjoying the writing process and not being too hard on yourself. One step at a time.

Our emotions can heavily influence our self-image, our thoughts and behaviors in our relationships, our career, and even our finances. Bringing to awareness different situations where you feel a specific emotion is an effective way to see what limiting thoughts/behaviors are holding you back and subsequently changing them and replacing them with positive ones.

Is there a correct way to write in the Journal

There is no right or wrong way of writing in this Journal. You can write in it as much as or as little as you want. You can add it to your self-care routine or think of it as regular self-therapy. Have fun while discovering yourself!

How often do I need to use write in the Journal

As often as you want! :) You can write daily if you wish to "track" your emotions and thoughts or whenever you wish to get stuff out of your head and unwind at the end of the day.

Does this Journal replace a professional therapist?

Our Journal is not meant to replace therapy or the work of a certified therapist but is here to support you in your day-to-day self-care habits and provide guidance when you're having a moment of reflection or self-therapy.
